As part of our Client's corporate finance refurbishment works Symmetrys were asked to provide the structural analysis of a new circular void in the floor plate of a multi storey concrete framed building in London's central financial district.
With the use of finite element design packages we proved that the existing concrete flat slab had sufficient capacity to enable a new void to be cut without the use of any additional trimming supports.
"Linking two floors at Close Brothers Corporate Finance with an ambitious new helical stair while they remained in occupation was a huge challenge. Symmetrys rose to this admirably, and we were impressed with their pragmatic approach and attention to detail." Adam Knight, Director, Hugh Broughton Architects Limited.
