Symmetrys are Structural and Civil Engineers for this development to replace the existing 1960’s building for Homerton Baptist Church.
The new building includes a single storey basement to allow community and church space on the ground floor and basement with five storeys of residential units over. Symmetrys are adopting a reinforced concrete frame with flat slabs to allow uninterrupted space in the large church floor space. This also provides high levels of acoustic insulation between floors, freedom of service distribution, and a cost-effective form of construction.
The basement is retained with contiguous piled walls with additional piled foundations used both internally and outside the basement footprint.
