The Works

Symmetrys are structural and civil engineers for this new development in the heart of Hampstead, London to provide apartments for senior living.

Split into two blocks, the six storeys above ground overlie two storeys of basement which contain plant space, service areas and an automated parking system Symmetrys are adopting a reinforced concrete frame of flat slabs for cost–effective construction whilst giving high level of acoustic insulation with freedom of partition layout and services distribution.

Services ducting will also be cast within the slabs to maximise headroom. Feature staircases reminiscent of Art Deco Parisian apartment buildings will provide access to all upper floors.

Below ground, a contiguous piled retaining wall will create the basement with piled foundations required internally to support the eight storeys.
