Tackling Modulars Biggest Safety Fix
The Paragon Estate, the West London Student Accommodation Scheme as a milestone in high-rise volumetric modular building. The six-block development, including the 17-storey Paragon Tower , was at the time the UK’s tallest modular building constructed in just 100 weeks, shaving months off the typical timeline for projects of its scale. This pioneering modular development has now become a pioneering remediation project. Equans has the job of making the estate safe and this is the first deep structural remediation of a volumetric modular high-rise building in the UK.
The client, Notting Hill Genesis was looking for a contractor led design and build team, to carry out the re-cladding works at The Paragon Estate. Symmetrys were employed by Equans to carry out the structural design works for the large undertaking.
