Claire is a Director at Symmetrys, in charge of the Business development and is the Practice Manager. She is a specialist in managing SME Growth. Claire has previously managed growth at a catering company and the start-up and expansion of a large language school in central London. Claire’s current love is her allotment.

Joanne graduated with a BEng Hons from the University of British Columbia. She has experience working on residential and commercial projects in Western Canada, and is enthusiastic to expand her structural engineering knowledge. In her spare time, Joanne enjoys hiking, travelling and playing chess.
Senior Structural Engineer

Ionut Gradinariu is a Structural Engineer with approximate 5 years’ experience in building design in accordance with Eurocodes and construction management from his work in Romania. Ionut’s main interests are residential refurbishment projects, but he is also passionate about fishing and beekeeping.
Structural and Drainage Engineer
Mark has a number of years’ experience in building structures and SuDS design since graduating from London South Bank University. His particular interest is in sustainability and innovation. Mark enjoys musical theatre and regularly participates in local amateur dramatic society productions.
Camille Corvec is a Structural Engineer who graduated in France after studying in Denmark and Loughborough University. After a year in Australia and New Zealand, she joined Symmetrys with the aim of expanding her engineering knowledge through our wide range of projects. Camille has recently taken up running and swimming.
Senior Structural Engineer
James is a chartered member of the ICE with experience of large infrastructure, residential, commercial and refurbishment projects in the UK and abroad. Time spent as a Resident Engineer on “The Scalpel”, means that James is adept at solving site problems with creative approaches. James is an ICE mentor helping guide the training of ICE candidates towards professional qualification. He also enjoys promoting sustainable design.
Toby has several years’ experience with projects ranging from residential developments to unique structures in arts and entertainment around the world. After attaining his BSc in Sweden, Tobias graduated with an MSc in Structural Engineering from the Netherlands. He is especially passionate about using technology to improve the engineering process.
Toby is a Chartered Structural Engineer whose experience in academic, mixed-use, commercial and residential new builds and refurbishments means he has worked on some of our largest projects. He joined Symmetrys as a structural engineer in December 2016 and has risen through Senior to Principle Engineer, then to Associate, gaining Chartership along the way. Toby has excellent site experience which gives him detailed appreciation of site constraints, and ways to overcome them.
CAD Technician/Revit Technician
Nathan is an experienced AutoCAD and Revit Technician, who has joined Symmetrys to develop his career. He supports our CAD team, producing deliverables from large developments right through to our smaller residential projects. He spends his spare time attending car events and travelling around the UK’s areas of natural beauty in search of the “perfect” photo.
Senior Structural Engineer
Ernest has a number of years of experience working as a Structural Engineer, managing and designing a variety of projects in different places as Spain, Turkey, Emirates, Brazil and the United Kingdom. He is currently working towards his IStructE Chartership. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, always searching for an amazing picture and discovering new cultures.
Engineering from Queen Mary and Westfield University. Already a valued member of the Symmetrys’ team, Matthew has been responsible for the delivery of some Symmetrys’ largest projects. In his spare time Matthew is a keen cyclist and walker.
Principal Civil Engineer
BEng (Hons) MSc Civil Engineering
Rachel is a Civil Engineer with seven years’ industrial experience designing below ground drainage networks incorporating SuDS elements and pavement design for residential, retail, office, commercial and mixed use developments as new builds and refurbishments. Rachel graduated from the University of Exeter with a BEng in Civil Engineering and obtained an MSc from UCL. Outside of work, Rachel plays football several times a week, with much of her spare time taken up with the running of the club as a committee member. Beyond this, Rachel also enjoys sketching and travelling.
Sunil graduated from Greenwich University with a BEng Hons. He has over 6 years’ experience in his field and has a strong background in reinforced concrete structures, in both commercial and residential sectors.
His keen eye for detail and forward thinking makes him an ideal fit for symmetrys and he hopes to further his progression and knowledge and is currently working towards chartership.
Ethan graduated from Cardiff University with a MEng in Civil Engineering. For his year in industry he gained site experience as a trainee site engineer. He is enthusiastic for positive impactful design and is excited to begin the journey towards chartership. Outside of Symmetrys Ethan enjoys skateboarding, cooking and coffee.
Senior Structural Engineer
Sean has several years’ design experience gained in Zimbabwe and London across a wide range of projects from new build commercial, residential and mixed use to refurbishments, temporary structures and ancillary mining structures. He joined Symmetrys in February 2020 and is currently working towards his Chartership
Following his Masters degree in Civil Engineering from City, University of London Ahmed has gained experience as a Structural Engineer managing and designing a variety of projects. He has a keen interest in projects that are architecturally demanding, and is currently working towards Chartership.
Chris is Symmetrys’ Managing Director, and founded the company in 2006. Chris has been working in the structural engineering consultancy profession since 1986, and has worked in South East Asia, the Middle East and the UK, gaining an enviable reputation at Dewhurst Macfarlane and partners, Hyder, Bechtel and Ove Arup. A keen cyclist, Chris has completed the 1500km Cycle to MIPIM four times.
Ashwin is Associate Design Engineer and has diverse experience in construction management as well as structural design, gained working for contractors as well as consultants. Ashwin strives to make his designs practical to build as well as cost effective using his in depth knowledge of various construction methods.
BEng (Hons) PG Cert Structs
David has gained extensive experience working for consultancies and main contractors within the UK. He leads a team of highly skilled Engineers and Technicians focussed on providing the most appropriate design solutions for the client. He has had experience across all building sectors, including projects such as Battersea Power Station, Crossrail, private developer mixed use schemes, schools and various developments for Local Housing Companies (LHC’s), redeveloping green and brownfield sites.
Simone is a Structural Engineer with several years’ experience in residential and commercial projects. Following his BSc in Civil Engineering in Italy, Simone graduated from London South Bank University with a MSc in Structural Engineering. Along with a keen interest in Engineering, Simone enjoys playing bass guitar, travelling and cooking.
MEng CEng MICE
Vasilis is a Structural Engineer, graduating in Greece he has been working in the UK for over four years, currently working towards his Chartership.
Before joining Symmetrys he gained experience in high end residential structures and refurbishment, as well as in conservation and heritage. Outside work he likes travelling and cooking.
Gill has over 30 years’ experience in marketing across many sectors including media, publishing, the arts, education and technology. She began her career in publishing, becoming Marketing Director for the Time Out Group. For the last ten years, Gill has worked with a variety of organisations providing strategic marketing advice and guidance to in-house teams.
Joana is a Structural Engineer with a number of years’ experience working in London consultancies, mainly in commercial, mixed-use and residential refurbishments. Her work involved developing structural solutions for temporary and permanent works, always focusing in a sustainable, economic and efficient design. In her spare time she enjoys exercising, cooking, travelling and recently she has been involved in charity work for her local community as a volunteer.
Wiza graduated from Middlesex University with BSc honours in Information Technology and Computer Networks. Wiza has over 12 year’s experience in administration and joins Symmetrys to help strengthen our administration team, which includes supporting HR & Finance. Outside of Symmetrys Wiza enjoys travelling the world with his family and also likes to keep fit by playing football, attending the gym and swimming. Reading books, playing audiobooks and listening to podcasts is also of interest.
Derek has many years’ experience in the construction industry where he has been the Lead Engineer on a wide variety of structures for Commercial, Industrial, Residential clients. He has a broad knowledge and understanding of all structural aspects on all types of residential and private house refurbishment projects. He has completed many challenging projects with innovative architects, and developed intelligent solutions to their designs.
Joel has several years’ experience in commercial and residential projects since graduating with a MEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol. He has joined Symmetrys to expand his knowledge of existing structures and sustainability, whilst working towards his chartership. Outside of work he enjoys films, golf and travelling
John is AutoCAD Technician and has worked as a Structural Draughtsman / AutoCAD Technician for over 30 years. He joined Symmetrys in 2010 offering them a full drawing management service. He has previously worked for Sir M MacDonald & Partners (Mott MacDonald) and Dewhurst Macfarlane & Partners on major projects worldwide.
Denis is a Structural Engineer with over 10 years’ experience in residential, commercial and data centre projects. Denis graduated from UMIST University with a Masters in Civil Engineering. He is enjoying the wide range of projects that Symmetrys has to offer. Denis enjoys playing numerous sports including football, cycling, tennis and basketball in addition to travelling and attending festivals and gigs.
