Located on a busy street with restricted access, The Bakery presented both logistical and technical challenges. Our structural role focused on assessing the existing modular steel and LGS stud structure, reviewing façade loading and fixing proposals, and ensuring the new cladding system—introduced as part of the fire-resistance remediation—could be safely supported.
We carried out targeted site visits, reviewed original structural information, and coordinated with the specialist façade contractor to support their design proposals. We also provided the structural backing-structure design, calculations, and construction-phase input.
The need to remediate the building to meet fire-resistance requirements also created the opportunity to significantly enhance its thermal performance and aesthetic appeal.
