Stirling Prize Winner 2026 – Lion Green Road
October 2026
Lion Green Road in Coulsdon, Croydon, has been named the winner of the 2026 RIBA Stirling Prize, the UK’s most prestigious architecture award.
Designed by Mary Duggan Architects, with RUFF Architects responsible for delivery, the development provides 157 homes across five buildings, combining social and private housing within a landscaped setting.
Symmetrys contributed to the project’s pre-construction structural and civil engineering design, working alongside the wider design team to help bring the scheme to life.
The award is a significant achievement for everyone involved. During Symmetrys’ 20-year history, we have now been shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize twice, and this is our first win! This recognition reflects the exceptional hard work that go into delivering projects of this calibre.
As Chris our Managing Director reflected ahead of the awards, the recognition belongs to everyone who contributes to our work. Whatever happens on the awards stage, the real achievement lies in what the team builds together every day.
Mary Duggan also recognised the residents who make Lion Green Road their home, highlighting the importance of the people who bring a development to life beyond its design and construction.
Congratulations to Mary Duggan Architects, RUFF Architects and the entire project team on this well-deserved win!
