The Works
Atelier Gardens is a 6-acre office and film studio campus in Berlin just south of south of Tempelhof airfield. This iconic film campus is steeped in history with the first studios built in 1912.
Symmetrys were employed by our client Fabrix, to write a structural report for each building in order to get an understanding of how the buildings have been constructed which in turn would allow the design team to have an educated discussion about how the structures can be adapted to form part of the wider scheme for the site. This led to an in-depth survey of 25 individual building ranging dramatically in terms of age, size, structure, and occupancy.
The intention for the site is to transform the buildings to create a beautiful green space including food production, and in general to improve the sustainability of the site.
