Symmetrys were the structural and civil engineers for this new development in the heart of Hampstead, London.
The new structure provided apartments for senior living. The buildings was split into two blocks. The six storeys above ground overlaid two storeys of basement which contained plant space, service areas and an automated parking system.
- Transfer structures adopted on ever floor to maximize occupancy area and increase sale prices
- Services cast into slabs to maximise headroom
- Double storey basement with carpark on confined site
Services ducting was cast within the slabs to maximise headroom. Feature staircases reminiscent of Art Deco Parisian apartment buildings provide access to all upper floors. Below ground, a contiguous piled retaining wall creates the basement, with piled foundations required internally to support the eight storeys.
