Symmetrys are delighted to announce that we have been appointed as the Structural and Civil Engineers for a new data centre project near the Port of Gibraltar.
The first phase of the data centre is expected to be operational by late 2027, with further phases following every 18 months.
The project is set to place Gibraltar at the heart of Europe’s digital infrastructure, helping to meet the soaring demand for high-performance data centres driven by rapid advances in artificial intelligence.
The site will be powered independently of Gibraltar’s existing grid and will also include a public leisure facility for community use.
Pelagos Chairman Konstantin Sokolov described the project as a
“new chapter for Gibraltar”
He said “Pelagos was laying the foundation for the next era of AI driven innovation, positioning Gibraltar as a strategic hub.”
