The Works

This demountable garden pod that was constructed off site in a furniture makers yard in Hertfordshire and brought to site in pre-fabricated panels.
The structure was inspired by The Homebase Urban Retreat Garden, winner of a gold medal in the show gardens category, at The Chelsea Flower Show, designed by Adam Frost.
The internal surfaces of the ceilings and walls were ply lined and blended seamlessly with a ply faced work bench, storage cupboards and storage seating. Light is offered into the pod via a large window that is turn shaded from direst sun light by a curved façade that is dressed with cedar wood slates hung from the cantilevered roof.
The internal seating located in front of the window provide tranquil views over the garden, a refuge from the outside world.
