The structural analysis of an extension and a complex refurbishment of a steel framed retail unit in Enfield, Middlesex.
The works included the removal of alternate columns along the flank wall, and removal of steel frames at the rear of the property to create large open areas for the retailers. The new extensions wrap around the side and rear of the existing structure. As part of our works we had to model the existing portal framed units in order to predict the structural movements created by the removal of columns and existing steel frames.
