The Works
1 Vince Street, located near Old Street tube station, involves the transformation of a site with an existing two-storey building and four single-storey takeaway shops. The proposal includes demolishing the existing structure to create a striking new 14-floor tower building with a two-floor basement, featuring retail space at ground level and commercial spaces above.

Symmetrys work included developing a structural scheme and a high-level construction methodology in order to secure planning approval. As part of the process, we conducted a desk study to evaluate ground conditions and demonstrate the feasibility of constructing the basement. We also collaborated closely with the architects at Studio Kyson to coordinate our design to accommodate the stunning glazed façade and a green terrace on the fifth floor, enhancing both the aesthetic and environmental aspects of the building.
