We are delighted to announce that Planning has been granted for Roots in The Sky and what a great challenge this project is turning out to be! We have had to consider the embodied carbon energy of the existing structure which resulted in keeping the existing foundations and substructure. This, in turn, led to proposing a lightweight hybrid steel and CLT frame in order to support 1300 tonnes of soil at roof level – and all optimised to fit around the existing building geometry.
