Joy for Children and Communities

May 2021

Symmetrys recently carried out some research into the sustainability of spandex and wrote a piece for Velocity Magazine titled “How Green Is Your Lycra” (https://symmetrys.com/news/how-green-is-your-lycra/) In short, the results weren’t as positive as we had hoped for. So you can imagine our delight when we heard Sam Mutton talk about his inspiring charity Joy for Children and Communities. (https://clubpeloton.org/news/432654)

The charity, run by Sam and his wife Chloe, has a variety of incredible programmes in Uganda. As keen cyclists, the ones that stand out to us are their amazing cycling projects. They have created a team that gives Ugandan men and woman the chance to cycle and compete in races, and their cycle tours – open to everyone from UK to join – not only give you an adventure of a life time, but the money goes fully back into funding all their charity projects.

Sam says demand is increasing for good quality, second hand cycle kit. They need cycle jerseys, shoes and helmets (and anything else cycling related) to be able to continue their amazing work.

So how can we support this deserving charity?

Please send any unwanted (but clean and in good condition) kit to:

Matthew Mutton

1 St Joseph’s Road

Sheringham

Or send it straight to the Symmetrys office and we will forward it onto them for you. We hope to send as much as possible to this truly admirable charity!
