The Works
As part of our client’s staff relocation plan we were asked to provide the structural analysis of a large new mezzanine floor within an existing prototype warehouse alongside the River Thames, with a view to providing additional office areas, meeting rooms and bars.
Due to its proximity with the river, the site’s works required the justification of the existing foundations to accommodate the increased loads created by the new floors. We also created new openings within existing suspended reinforced slabs – and all within the ‘land side’ and ‘air side’ challenges of working in an airport environment whether.
